You can use a variety of lures to catch speckled trout. Here are some of our most popular lures: Chuggers (MirrOlures), Rapala XRap Slashbait and Heddon Super Hook. These lures will imitate speckled trout's erratic movements to draw strikes from the fish.

MirrOlures

The 52M series of MirrOlures is an excellent bait for speckled trout fishing, and is similar to the popular MirroDine suspending bait. This bait has a wider profile and mimics grunts and pinfish. It works well on grassy flats in four to eight feet of water. The 52M series has a "19” color pattern. This makes it particularly effective in water with lots of vegetation and weeds. For this lure, a quick pause retrieve or twitch will suffice. It will then suspend motionless in its strike area. Speckled trout find this bait irresistible, and they strike it with abandon!

This top water lure is ideal for targeting predators inshore. You can use the MirrOlures topdog for a parallel casting, within two-foot of mangrove branches. This will attract snooks and redfish along with trout. Popa Dog, Atop Dog, and Popa Dog are two other top water lures that work well above the water surface.

Chuggers

Chuggers are essentially overgrown poppers. When twitched, their flattened, concave heads and long skirt produce a lot of vibration. They are great for attracting smallmouth and spotted bass and schooling stripsers. But chuggers are not as effective with larger predators such as pike and muskie. Here are some tips to help catch these gorgeous fish.

Fishing

A weedless spoon is a good choice. These spoons are excellent for use over oyster bars and seagrass bed. These lures have a fluttering effect so be sure to tie the lure with a swivel, and then retrieve it slowly. Shadtail lures are especially effective. Another popular topwater lure is the MirrOlure Popa Dog. This lure works best when fished in shallow water approximately 6 feet deep.

Rapala X-Rap Slashbait

Rapala's newest lure the X-Rap. The lure features a long casting system with an irresistible rattle and integrated long casting. This bait is fashioned with Permasteel 3X hooks fastened to stainsless steel through the body wire. This bait is ideal for large speckled trout because of its aggressive darting action, rolled tail and rolling tail.

The X-Rap shines in any fishing situation, from chilly fall days to clear blue water. The X-Rap has a profile that resembles a small, dinner-sized mullet. The X-Rap will sink quickly to two to four inches and is an ideal choice when fishing from shorelines. This bait will catch big-meal speckled trout.

Heddon Super Hook

Knowing how to properly use a lure is crucial to catching large trophy speckled rainbow trout. The speckled trout will strike any lure that is frog, rod, or fish-like, so make sure you choose the best lure for your species. Spoons are great lures for these fish because they have a high eye-to-water ratio and cause water movement. This type of lure is very durable so it will not fade in the waters.

These lures are brightly colored with realistic-looking eyes and hook bodies. Unlike other lures, they will not snap or bend, despite being extremely durable. Because they can generate a lot water, they are also suitable for topwater fisherman. These hooks are extra-sharp, so your prey will stay where it is supposed to.

Do you need a bobber to fish?

Yes. A bobber is used to keep the bait from getting away when fishing. The bobber has two parts: the float and the line. You attach the hook and line to the lure. Once the line is out, let go of it. You should not use a Bobber as the lure can sink into the water and make it more difficult for fish to bite.

How do I clean fish?

There are many options for cleaning fish. You can remove the head, guts and fins. Then rinse the fish in cold water. Another option is to gut the fish yourself. This involves removing the intestines and cleaning the inside cavity. Finally, you may ask someone to clean the fish.

How To

Why should you use a spinning rod?

Spinning Rods can be used to cast your lure directly into the water, without needing to leave the boat. It's a great choice if you don't want to lose too much time getting back into the boat after every cast. A spinning rod can be used to cast from any location and maintain control of your line. There are three major components to the rod; handle, butt and reel section. The handle is the part that holds the rod in your hand and grips the shaft. The rod's tip is attached to the hook at the butt section. The reel seat is where the line is attached to the reel. There are many different types of rods available today. Some rods can only be used for trolling and casting. Others are designed to be used for various purposes, including fly fishing, spin fishing, bait fishing, etc.

The type you catch will affect the type rod you choose. You would need a heavy-duty rod if your goal is to catch large predatory fish like pike and bass. If you are fishing for smaller species, such a trout or salmon, a lighter weight rod may work better. You could even purchase multiple rod sizes depending upon how big you plan to catch the fish.

Spinning Rods don't have to be limited to freshwater fishing. They can also be used for saltwater fishing. Saltwater spinningrods are heavier than their freshwater counterparts. They require stronger materials in order to withstand saltwater. In addition, saltwater spinners usually feature a larger diameter rod with a shorter length. They can cast further distances because of this. You should be aware that saltwater fishing can have its drawbacks. First, unlike freshwater spinning rods, saltwater ones do not come with reels. Instead, you must purchase one separately. The second reason is that they can be quite expensive. If you love catching bigger fish, then a spinning rod may be something to consider.

Spin fishing is a method of angling in which a fisherman uses a spinning rod to cast a weighted lure into the water. The lure spins around the center point of the weighted lure as it swims through the water. This causes the lure move erratically through the water, making fish difficult to spot. Fish may also mistake the lure for food and begin feeding on it. This will make the lure more attractive to fish. The fisherman can then reel in the line attached to the lure. After the lure is retrieved, the fisherman can continue the process until he has caught the desired number.
